+Who will it be? The next Nobel Peace Prize Laureate will be announced on Friday, and I haven’t heard any names becoming the firm bookies’ favourite yet. Perhaps they’re too busy taking bets on when Liz Thick will be dethroned. Of course, Greta must be in the running, but she seems to have slid back into obscurity of late (she’s nominated it seems). I guess anyone who could resolve the King Charles 3 v. Harry’n’Megs dispute could be in with a chance. No doubt Ukrainian parliamentarians will have supported a nomination for President Zelenskiy, but that wouldn’t be appropriate (am I allowed to say that, Keir?). He’s been nominated too and does seem in with a chance. The Tony Blair Institute for Global Change seems a highly worthy cause. And why not Donald Trump? His use of drones followed hard in the footsteps of Obama’s and he got the Prize. And Trump did try to soften relations with the ‘Rocket Man’ of North Korea. But I imagine somewhere in Oslo there’ll be some disquiet over the idea. Memories linger and giving the prize to Kissinger for his part in ending the Vietnam War left a huge stain on the Prize. So, opening my own mystery envelope, I would like to announce the winner of the 2022 Nobel Peace Prize, and the winner is . . . . The Global Commons Institute!
+Liz Thick has licked her wounds in time for the Tory Party conference and has deigned to appear before the cameras to explain her and Kwasi’s car crash budget. In typical fashion, she didn’t apologise for the content, but only the presentation. This is the classic politician’s response: shoot the messenger. Kwasi’s days are numbered.
