The pandemic is providing an excellent opportunity for private companies dealing in cyber security and surveillance to embed themselves further in state systems of population monitoring, all in a ‘good cause.’ Perhaps we should be grateful that Johnson’s government is so incompetent that it doesn’t seem able to roll out a credible ‘test and trace (and track)’ system yet.

+It would surely test everybody’s credulity if Ghislaine Maxwell met the same fate as Jeffrey Epstein, but if I were her I would definitely be plea bargaining, although with whom is an open question.
